Sunshine Canyon Landfill Buttress

Work consisted of four million cubic yards of excavated material along with the construction of a stability buttress to stabilize the future liner cell construction slopes. A slope monitoring instrumentation system was placed prior to excavation to assist in the monitoring of any slope instability. The project also included the installation of 10,000 linear feet of the surface drainage channel, 10,000 linear feet of sub drain, 2,000 linear feet of road construction, 1,500 linear feet of landfill gas installation, along with erosion control at the completion of the project.
