Robert B. Diemer Water Treatment Plant North Access Road

Sukut constructed a one-mile hillside access road for the Metropolitan Water District. The project included 90,000 cubic yards of excavation with up to 30-foot high 1/2:1 backcuts, 70,000 square feet of MSE walls, a 3,000 square foot Soldier Pile Tie-Back Wall, over 500 cubic yards of structural concrete, 5,000 lineal feet of HDPE storm drain, a 6,000 lineal foot electrical duct bank system, an extension of two CMLC water lines to fire hydrants from a 96-inch high-pressure feeder line, 4,500 tons of asphalt, and a three rail car wide bridge over Carbon Canyon Creek with three pipelines installed under the bridge utilizing pipe supports. The 70,000 square foot Verdura Segmental MSE wall built by Soil Retention Systems, Inc. and backfilled by Sukut Construction won the Hardscape North America Award for Transportation.
