Sukut moved over 3.2 million cubic yards of dirt and rock to create 258 luxury home sites for the client and land developer, Toll Brothers. Utilizing two of the company’s CAT D11 dozers, Sukut was able to rip through 180,000 cubic yards of rock that was expected to be drilled and blasted. The grading work also included the construction of 22 stability fills and buttressed slopes, one of them over 170 feet high.
Project highlights included:
- Sukut self-performed 96% of the project scope
- An aging 2,800 feet long water pipeline running through the middle of the property made the earthwork logistics challenging, but Sukut was able to safely work around the pipeline and ultimately remove it once a temporary water line was in place
- Multiple large buttresses
- Used D11 dozers instead of blasting
