A long, deep vertical cut was needed to install a storm drain pipe near dairy farms. Rather than utilizing an excavator, Sukut used scrapers to excavate the ground. This created a large pipe excavation zone that greatly increased production. This also created a stockpile of dirt that could not fit in the construction easement on the property. The innovative team was granted permission from the farmers to use the easement for stockpiling the dirt and then the leftover dirt was used to fill in low spots at the farms.
The following is a brief description of the work completed:
• Excavated a vertical cut of 25 to 44 feet and installed 2,200 linear feet of 144-inch pipe, and 2,400 linear feet of 120-inch pipe, grade, and level property.
• Self-performed 80% of the work.
