Date Completed:
September 30, 2014
Location:
San Diego County
Description of Project:

Sukut Construction worked as a subcontractor on the San Vicente Dam Project, the world’s largest roller-compacted concrete (RCC) dam raise. After excavating and hauling over 1.25 million cubic yards of rock material out of the future marina site for use in the 117 feet dam raise, Sukut placed 825,000 cubic yards of fill to create the future boat ramp and marina site. Upon completion of the San Vicente Dam Raise project, the San Diego Water Authority was able to double the current reservoir capacity.

As a sub-contractor on the massive San Vicente Dam Project, Sukut constructed the new storm drain lines “A” and “B” in preparation for the marina site and access roads. Sukut installed nearly 3,000 feet of 18”, 24”, 30”, 36”, and 42” RCP, along with numerous concrete inlet and outlet structures. After completing the storm drain scope, Sukut constructed the 3,713’ Marina Access Road and 1,800’ Surge Access Road with v-ditch and metal beam guard rail features.
